Summer Shuffle pt2 Tunes I loaded up on my iPods during summer vacation, to share with you on this podcast. 0
New Digs Part2 Celebration moving into the new studios at University of Connecticut's Student Union building. 0
Jazz Lives! p2 This show just makes me feel that Jazz Lives! We've got new artists, local hartford jazz musicians, and a special guest. Greg Abate joins us in a recorded interview after just returning from a european tour, and with an upcoming performance in Boston. He talks to us about traveling, the state of Jazz and composing music. 0
Post Modern Bop p2 A sub-genre of jazz as practiced by modern era jazz musicians rooted in the bebop tradition, but drawing on many different influences (e.g. latin, classical, pop) that expands the music beyond the be-bop form. 0
Kind of Blue Podcaste Tonights broadcast is based on the Miles Davis landmark LP, Kind of Blue. Many consider this as perhaps the greatest Jazz album ever, and I certainly would rank it at least in the five. 0
Old, New, Indie I received a bunch of interesting CD's from Independent jazz artists that I want to feature for you this evening. We love to promote these great artists that never seem to get the recognition they deserve, and certainly would not get airplay on the commercial end of the dial. That is what community and college radio, like WHUS, is all about. In addition, a couple of new releases from artists you know (Chick, Bela, Ponty, Zawinul). Then, I picked up some great old bebop albums from the 60's from the likes of Hank Mobley, Red Garland and others. New, Old and Indie, that about covers it all. 0
Themeless p2 Usually I try to put together a theme for each show, but this week, I just did not have the time to prepare. So, I am just making it up as I go along. Sometimes those shows turn out the best. Hope you think so. 0
Summer 2007 Music for those hot summer nights. We'll play many many versions of the Gershwin classic composition Summertime along with other great tracks to put you in that summer heat wave. Props go to Pablo from Sao Paulo Brazil for suggesting tonight's Summertime theme. 0
For Our Fathers part2 On the eve of Fathers Day, we dedicate this set to our Dads. 0
